Horrifyingly awful book, where the main character is rescued from abuse by a ahem "hero" who then abuses her in worse ways in what we are expected to believe is love? Simply horrible.

fast-paced
  • Plot- or character-driven? A mix
  • Strong character development? No
  • Loveable characters? No
  • Diverse cast of characters? No
  • Flaws of characters a main focus? It's complicated

While it's not the best book, i did get it for free.
and beggars cannot be choosers. I will not be reading the rest of the short stories that are left in this mini series.

I’m kind of being generous with the third star when I want to give it two. I can understand a book being a quick read and wanting to get to the good stuff but I felt like it was too rushed. There just could’ve been more build up between the two MCs. I know there’s a few other books after this but I definitely don’t like how it ended… a cliffhanger I can deal with a little lol

Horrible. Absolutely horrible.
Being a short book is no excuse not to develop any of the characters, or the plot, or really any part of the book.
Every scene is lacking in depth. There's no true relationship, or passion between the two characters. Brandon feels possessive over Hannah after just meeting her and gets mad at her for the weirdest things.

SPOILER:

Why does Brandon get mad at Hannah for not telling him about her ex when they barely even know each other. Awkward.
