Gabriel Allon is one of my favorite literary characters. The book is another great tale of spies and espionage.

I thought this was a pretty good read. Its a little simplistic as far as the writing is concerned and the twist I saw coming a mile away, but I would read more books in this series so for that reason I gave it a third star.

Espionage thrillers are not my normal pick, but this is an extremely well-written book. A great use of the language, interesting, and thought-provoking - I'm glad I gave it a try.

Gabriel Allon is moving towards a new phase in his career and this novel seems like a transition towards a renewal of the series. The author didn't seem to build as much suspense as usual but clearly set-up some characters and scenarios for the future.

Honestly, nothing against the book - I’m just not very into thrillers focused on political intrigue. My dad really likes this series.
