I totally read The White Princess before I read The White Queen even if I own the White Queen but I'm pretty sure that's okay because I watched both television shows and it's basically the same thing, right? Right?

My feelings for this book are my feelings for every Philippa Gregory book, which means I'm rehashing myself from the last three books I've already read, but here we go. Her historical accuracy is trash, but I definitely don't read them for historical accuracy. I read them for the same sort of enjoyment I get out of watching trashy reality shows and seeing rich fancy people make a fucking mess of their lives. Which, honestly, happens kind of spectacularly in this one because Henry is such a motherfuckin' (lol) git.

Elizabeth falls on the tolerable end as far as it goes with Gregory's leading characters, so that made it easier to get through this book. Unlike with some of her novels, I didn't feel bored while reading it, which is a plus.

Four stars for my own personal enjoyment because, like this book, I am trash.

Not the best in the Cousins War series. Repetitive and slow and boring. Henry VII chases The Boy, the presumed Richard of York and prevaricates over killing him. Again and again and again. Elizabeth of York claims she knows nothing and has babies. Again and again and again. Really difficult to care. Not nearly as good as the other books in the series.

Were the York princes murdered in the tower? Are they alive, plotting their return to the throne?
Elizabeth of York weds Henry Tudor in an attempt to end the cousins' war. King Henry becomes obsessed with the possibility of the York princes alive and scheming. Will Queen Elizabeth meet her brothers again?
Excellent read - family loyalty, intrigue, mystery and legend.

Quick read, part of the cousins war series put out by Gregory following the conclusion of the War of the Roses. This follows Elizabeth of York who marries a monster, according to the books clear slant, Henry the Seventh. I know this is fiction, but I am an anglophile and have read tons on Henry the 7th and his crazy mom Margaret Beaufort that I'm not entirely sure that he was a stable man. He spends his regency fighting ghosts of the princes in the tower, and being a cheapskate, because he needs money. Or he thinks he needs money, and the the lords don't want to give him money, because he's socially inept, having spent the majority of his life in exile.

But in defense of Tudor, Edward of York totally stole the throne from Henry the Sixth anyway, so all these jerks calling him an usurper are calling the kettle black. The Yorks strike me as the popular crowd at the high school, everybody likes them, they are so good looking, but the sense of entitlement threw everything is disarray. So Tudor, the Lancasters, took it back.

This veered off a bit. The book was good, as were her previous ones title the White Queen and the Red Queen, which is about her mother and her mother in law respectively.

Read about 150 pages until I decided I should read some reviews before investing too much time in this book. I’m glad I did! The things I found annoying about this story never are explained. For this reason I decided not to finish the book. Moving on...
