Slow burn with awful characters and lots of passages which ended up being completely irrelevant, but such a dark and unique read with a surprising plot

took me a while to get through, I definitely needed to put it down a few times to let it sit, but would get sucked back in when I picked it up again. would definitely be up for a reread some day. a bit too American for me to pick up every reference or context

It's a really well written book. The characters are all insufferable. One wants to randomly

rape

his friend. Another has surprise

incest

. Then characters felt 2D with their problematic behavior. 
The book should have been half as long as it is. 
Also, while I usually love when authors read their own books... this is pretty badly done. Bunny's accent was painful. 

It felt like a book that wanted to teach us something, but wasn't quite able to make it there. The only character I liked was the token woman. Because someone has to exist to be

abused

. 

But again, really pretty prose.
