Donna Tartt’s writing was excellent throughout the book.  The characters were strong and you could feel the anticipation build.  However, I did feel as if she was taking extraordinary liberties with the use of racial and homophobic slurs in the dialogue of her bigoted characters.

 beautifully written book about a bunch of homosexuals no i know this isn't a book with a happy ending or morally good characters that are lucky but i wish richard ended up with henry or francis or at least confessed his love to either of them i dont care who but his love for camilla felt so forced

It’s so amazing how Donna managed to write such beautiful yet disturbing book like this. It’s very hard to put down and it’s the best book I’ve read so far!
