I give this book a 5.75 stars. God’s Trombones written by James Weldon Johnson first published in 1927 is Seven Negro Sermons told in verse. This book didn’t disappoint. It gave me a feeling of being in church as a young girl with my grandmother listening to the preacher preach when people really felt the Holy Spirit move. When people jumped and shout. I literary cried from start to finish.
