I thought that this was a really interesting idea for a story, but I wish we hadn't been hinted so early on that the mother might have some bird thing going on. I did stay unsure for the duration of the book, but I kept thinking to myself, "so is she a bird or is she not a bird? Like what's going on there. But I really enjoyed the complicated relationship between the sisters, and I would read this author again.
