"I Am AI" is an interesting novelette about capitalism and humanity. The main character is struggling to keep up with her mounting debt, is embittered against a monopoly that rules her city, and decides to replace many body parts with electric ones to become more efficient. It's contemporary and dark while somehow also being uplifting.

For such a short read, this is a very insightful and moving piece of writing. Incisive into the loss of creativity, humanity with the rise of machine-driven content. I could not stop reading.

A través de una distopía no tan lejana a nuestro tiempo en valores, la autora nos lleva a reflexionar sobre la pérdida de las emociones y relaciones en pro del consumo y la productividad.
Una pequeña fabula para reflexionar.

I didn't love this when I first finished it, but it's growing on me. We're moving towards a world where we de-emphasize the human parts of us - though really, capitalism makes that true already. Productivity is king.

Jiang makes the interplay between the machine and human parts of us literal in this story, and presents a very bleak but incredibly compelling world. The tension around having low battery permeated the story; and when we think about the world we live in now, it feels especially true as a metaphor.

A fairly straightforward message about the impact sacrificing one's humanity impacts on creativity also that capitalism is bad.
