This book is a wonderful resource for the solo librarian. The hardest thing, I think, about being solo is not having any immediate colleagues with whom to talk, commiserate and share ideas. How to Thrive as a Solo Librarian is like having a book full of colleagues who have "been there" and "done that." I took many, many notes as I read this book, bookmarked many websites mentioned in the citations of the essays, underlined many passages, and will probably consult it as a reference resource in the future.

I skim read a couple of chapters that did not apply to my situation or current needs, but that did not take away from the overall usefulness of the book.
