*Sigh* where do I start? I guess I will start by saying I am disappointed. This book fell extremely flat for me. I read the blurb and felt excited to read this book but very quickly into starting this read I felt myself getting bored and confused. The whole plot line of this story is to find the "who done it" person and when it is revealed it feels like a big let down. I was expecting more drama or a bigger, darker twist. The worst thing for me was the ending, we as readers are left with unanswered questions like
Spoiler Is Casey Mick's daughter?, what became of Hud and Ashley? what about Nina, Jay and Kit?
and why, why does the author start bringing in the POV's of random people!!?? šŸ˜¬ This whole story has been lazer-focused on the Rivas family and then you bring in random people and different mini plot-lines. I felt so frustrated reading and almost gave up. I wish I could get my time back from reading this book.

Almost 5 stars but I can't quite put it on the same tier as Dausy Jones. It was so damn fun and it was the perfect read for my Florida/Bahamas vacation. I love the drama of these messy Hollywood stars, and I loved to hate Mick Riva. My heart broke for Nina and I loved the focus on her story. All the little vignettes about the other celebrities at the party made it so much fun. This book is addicting and wonderfully written, just like everything else TJR does. I can't wait to read more of her.

I truly have to commend TJR for her ability to seamlessly tell this story from so many different perspectives. If was different and really refreshing to not necessarily only have one ā€œmainā€ character. Everyone was a main character in their own right whether you loved them or hated them.Ā

I don't know what to say but this book has a special place in my heart. I felt for NinaĀ  because I went through the same thing. I won't hesitate to give a 5 star! It's too good not to just like the Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo. I admire this universe Taylor made.Ā

This was an amazing read. I loved the complexity of the Riva family and how the children remained so close after so much hardship. I usually donā€™t like when books go back and forth between time periods, but the author handled the transitions seamlessly.Ā
I found the story captivating and easy to follow even with so many characters. Mick Riva is a real piece of work and I strongly disliked his characters.Ā

Ā a river ting, bucking, swirling book. i couldnā€™t put it down. the vividness of the description, the character afforded even the very slightest of people, it reminds you that life is real, that everyone is a main character, that everything is huge and small and significant and insignificant. i feel tanned by the malibu sun and drunk off a malibu cocktail. i loved.Ā
