An excellent meta-slasher; a heartbreaking homage to the genre that keeps you guessing right along with the main character even though you both have the benefit of her encyclopedic knowledge of these films to guide you.

I didn't love all of the writing in this, but I think it mostly served purpose and added to the tone. Very, very fun wrap up.

Graham Jones plays with thr slasher like Alan Moore played with superheroes. There is a love and deep knowledge of slashers and their cheap trashy thrills.  He explores the u deli g pathos that can lie with them and shows that slashers can have something g to say just like ghost stories. Does reach the emotional and resonate heights of Obly Good Indians nor its horror, this is a fun and scary read. The ending is wild.

Such a sad story packaged in a terrible tale! I was excited to read this trilogy, but I'm reconsidering. I heard the third book is really good, which means I'll now need to read the second first. Better be worth it!
