This author is hit and miss with me, and this one was a HUGE miss unfortunately. I struggled to finish it. The writing was clunky. The POV changes were awkward. The dialogue was cheesier than my Grandma's lasagna. The sex scenes were cringe worthy...sigh.

When he wrapped his 12 inch billiard ball size headed member in a Christmas stocking and ribbon, I knew nothing was going to save this one for me...

Cute Christmas based story. In typical Carew fashion, completely on the naughty side. Which makes for an extremely fun read. I would have liked to read more though. Note, I did receive an advanced copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.

This was just downright sexy and hilarious, in all the most perfect ways. It starts with a bang - with a "big package" that is dropped off by the ex-boyfriend. This package is just the best thing ever - in all the wrong ways. I was cracking up every time it was brought back into the story.

Full of great opportunities for our characters to re-connect, a snowstorm and a cabin are the perfect place to get it (and I mean all of it) done. There's some fun toys and lots of great one-liners. But in the end, it's still a really great romance. Just enough comflict to make it a worthwhile read, but lots of hot smexiness to make it all better.

3 stars -- I received a free copy through NetGalley in exchange for an honest and unbiased review/opinion.

OK, I will admit that I picked this book to read as my first HoHoHo Read-A-Thon book b/c the reviews were kind of lukewarm, and having finished a book hangover type book, I knew the next book wasn't going to live up to expectations. Honestly, this is probably more of a 2.5 star read, but I bumped it up a half star b/c it partially takes place in Ottawa, and it brought back some good memories from when I lived there a decade and a half ago... Especially when they mentioned Bayshore Mall! I lived across from that mall! So high fives for the great reminiscing.

Otherwise this was a pretty shallow book...it was a bit corny, a bit cheesy, the characters were pretty surface, and there were a lot of cliches. It was pretty standard Harlequin type fare. I would classify it as erotica, since there was an awful lot of sex. And the plot had the usual stupid, AVOIDABLE misunderstandings that were resolved by just talking. Not a huge fan of those, so hence why without the Ottawa stuff, it would have been a 2.5 star or lower.

I was amused that Ms. Carew dealt with some interesting sexual...insecurities? Like a guy having to deal with a "big package", and how that's not always a blessing. And female ejaculation. Props to Ms. Carew, she did not a bad job with that either.

All in all very meh. Didn't keep my attention super well, but in some ways was less annoying than I had been expecting. On to my next Christmas read!

Opal Carew is fun. And, there is a certain expectation when you read one of her books. Yes, they are a formula...but it is a fun formula. Guy with a big package meets a girl with a big package. Stuff happens, sex happens. It is fun.

H0lly and Kalen were interesting together. I liked that they had a history, I liked that there was a prior attraction between them. It made the story work. And, the snowbound at the holiday made sense...it didn't seem overly contrived.

The wrapping paper, the contents of the box...it was all fun. It was lighthearted. It was enjoyable. I am not one for holiday books, but in this case, I made an exception...because I knew I was going to enjoy it. And I did.

The book is short, there isn't really a lot to say about it. It was well written, the pacing was decent, the story was fun and I believed the characters.

I recommend this book.

This is one that I probably could have passed on. A second chance romance when two high school classmates are caught in a snow storm on Christmas Eve that leave them stranded together with a box of sex toys (don't ask-it's just...don't ask). The sexy times ensue but so does a lot of emotional unpacking and reminiscing. It was sweet and sexy but nothing spectacular. Also, the love interest was a thick as hell 12 incher and while I get that a "big package" is a deterrent for some lovers and can cause a lot of heartaches and emotional baggage for a man (not everyone is up for the challenge) we have a girl who is more than willing to make it work. Which is cool and it was nice seeing a man be insecure and unsure of himself in bed...but also, maybe don't throw a DP in within a short erotic tale if the dude is THAT big and she has to work up to him already...just saying.
