garrett graham, my favorite book boyfriend. what else can i say??

this is the first book in the briar universe, so it's possible you've never read one of these books if you're reading this review. so i'll go more in depth.

garrett graham is briar university's #1 hockey star. he doesn't do girlfriends. he only cares about hockey, but he needs help passing a class to be eligible to play.

hannah wells is a singer who stays pretty much out of the limelight at school. she has some personal issues from her past (trigger warning: sexual assault). hannah aced the midterm and garrett wants her to help tutor him.

hannah essentially says "heck no," but the boy won't ever stop and yadda yadda yadda.

they strike a deal. i won't go into much detail because i don't want to spoil anything. this book is a fake dating, friends-to-lovers, beautiful piece of chocolate cake masterpiece. with the added benefit of sexy hockey players and steamy sex.

all of elle kennedy's books contain sexual content, so stay away if that is not your thing. (i highly recommend you don't stay away, though)

as i said in the trigger warning above, this book contains content regarding sexual assault. this book is very sex-positive and the way the situation is handled is done well. 5 stars from me.

I honestly went into this book with lower expectations. I’m not even sure why because literally every one of my friends who read this loved it. But I guess I was tired of getting let down by books my friends love, and instead I ended up loving this book so much.

I did not want to put this book down. Had I not had plans Saturday night this would have been a one sitting read for me. It was that addicting.

The way Hannah said she was addicted to Garret, I was also addicted

“Last night I left the party with the sole purpose of forgetting about him, and instead of doing that, I allowed Garrett Graham to fill me with the most destructive emotion known to mankind—hope.”
