"In Cold Chamomile " is the 3rd instalment in the “A Tea and Read” Mysteries by Joy Avon. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and have now purchased the first book Peppermint Peril!

The third book in the "A Tea and Read Mystery" series is a quick and entertaining read. I still haven't read the first book "In Peppermint Peril" but I have added to top of my tbr pile. I was able to follow along easily so it can be read as a stand alone but I do recommend that you read from the beginning. I really enjoyed this instalment and read on a cold, snowy Sunday, curled up with a hot cop of tea and fresh made oatmeal raisin cookies.

I was excited to visit Heart’s Harbor, Maine again is and Book Tea! Both seem like my kind of place and I could quite happily settle in for a spell.

The protagonist Callie seems like a strong, independent woman but does tend to have a lot of internal dialogue going on which almost contradicts this. I especially love the relationship she has with her aunt Iphy and was happy to learn more of her back story this time. The side characters are well rounded and seem real as I could relate to each of them to some extent.

The mystery was interesting and well plotted, and I suspect the killer but there were good red herrings and plenty of twists to keep me guessing. The one surprise was the why...

I had a hard time putting it down and I cannot recommend this book any higher to all my cozy lover friends.

I requested and received an advance reader copy of this book from Crooked Lane Books and Netgalley. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

They just left a plot point completely unresolved??? I predicted the killer this time around so I have that going for me.

I really Liked the twists and the turns this mystery took.

However, the arch of Ace has been so frustrating to see unfold.. he has been leaving her on her own in one manner or another so much during the last 2 books.

Piggy's arch is one of my favourite things in this book. The character has changed from a helpless angry woman to something else entirely

I was looking forward to reading this book after having enjoyed the first two. Unfortunately, I found this installment to be disappointing. The characters fell very flat for me and I found I did not really like them. I also thought the main character came off as weak in this book.

I voluntarily read a digital ARC provided to me through Netgalley.

In Cold Chamomile has an engaging plot, a few red herrings and a bunch of suspects. I'm a bit torn about the ending though. It ends good for a couple of the characters, but not so much for a couple of others (I will not say who, in order not to spoil the ending for anyone). I also wished a few of the characters were a bit more developed.

True Delight!!

When I first started this series, I had no idea that I would fall in love with it. The books continue to get better and better and I do not give 5 stars easy.

I love the bond Callie and her aunt have. It is very special and heart warming and I love their shenanigans.

Although this book is set with a Valentine theme, its not about "love" in the traditional way. There is the love of family and love lost by not taking chances. Some characters are offered second chances in this book, but are they strong enough to take them? Oh yeah, and there is a murder for Callie to solve so YAY!

I don't see a listing for a book 4 yet but I cannot wait to read it.

I had both the digital copy (from NetGalley) and the audio version narrated by Laurel Lefkow.
