Tatsächlich bin ich selbst überrascht, wie begeistert ich von der Geschichte bin. Meine Oma hatte mir das Buch schon geschenkt (hatte es auch selbst gelesen und für gut befunden), aber ich habe nie danach gegriffen und es sogar schließlich weggeworfen. Einige Jahre später war es ein Weihnachtsgeschenk meiner Patin, den Drang danach, den Roman zu lesen, habe ich aber nie wirklich verspürt. Jetzt hat es aber genau gepasst. Anfangs fand ich die Sprache noch etwas störend, aber ich wollte unbedingt den Verlauf des Abenteuers erfahren und meine Begeisterung ist immer mehr gestiegen. Am Schluss habe ich sogar ein paar Tränchen verdrückt.

why do these kind of authors always feel the need to make their main character unselfreflected assholes and then try to justify it by them being unpopular
