Think of your most deeply rooted and ill-serving personal traits: spending too much money on items you can't really afford, accepting violence as a way of life, lack of self-esteem, difficulty with intimacy, and poor diet, among others. In your heart you don't like what you see, know you can do and be better, but the journey is long and arduous, and fraught with a multitude of reasons not to change. Hard, right?
Well, now imagine that you belong to an entire group of people who for centuries have not only suffered personally, but been told, as a group, that they are worthless and sub human. It is a tremendous double whammy.
Tom Burrell does a terrific job of outlining the mistreatment and brainwashing of the centuries and lays down a simple, but certainly not easy plan to overcome it. Easy to read and full of hope for a better tomorrow.
