Really resonant to any woman (and probably men) who’ve struggled with weight and body image. With learning to be comfortable with and appreciative of your body. The author is brutally honest and raw—I can’t say enough about how impactful it is to read another woman sharing eating habits I thought were my own shame.

Triggers for fatphobia, domestic abuse, eating disorders, mentions of weight/weight loss/calorie counting
I think I agree with part of her conclusion about just because you shouldn’t feel bad about the body you’re born into doesn’t necessarily mean you are required to feel good about it. Society punishes fatness when it shouldn’t and people are uncomfortable by their bodies and I think those can be true at the same time for some people.
I appreciate that this was very much a MEMOIR and she was not resolving her book by telling us what we needed to do to get our “dream bodies”. She found a way to love herself in all of it and if the end result is love, I am always supportive of it. I hope she continues to grow and learn as she gets older and becomes as soft and kind to herself as she is to everyone else in her life.
