Historical mystery set in the South during the 1930's. Third book in the series.

Loses a star because the characters are far too excited and happy to be related to confederate spies. Like, I understand that they are much closer to their confederate past and that it's just a Thing in the south, but it makes me very uncomfortable.

I love the Darling Dahlias and I would probably read the series just to hear about life in small town Alabama during the Great Depression, but this book could really use a little more mystery. Although interesting, the mystery behind the local librarian's pillow just didn't do it for me. The characters and the small town of Darling carried the story, but it really needed more meat to make it a solid read.

I loved the historical perspective in this book, especially since I just finished [b:The Persian Pickle Club|128940|The Persian Pickle Club|Sandra Dallas|https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1311998766s/128940.jpg|919911] which was also a depression era book. It was a good read

I love this series! Nothing too complicated. Just pure entertainment. I would love to be a character in this series! :)
