Well well well

If it's not the consequences of the consequences of other's people actions that are the consequences of a fucked world.

This ends this arc, in a very dark, violent way. And yet, the ending is hopeful, and it's those moments contrasted to all the bad happening that make Made in Abyss worth reading.

I'm not sure how to rate this one. I absolutely loved the first 5 books in this series. Those first 5 books are basically perfect and tell a story that's unique, beautiful, horrifying, and devastating. My only complaint is once and awhile there will be something vaguely sexual which ruins my experience a but because our characters are so young. Since those parts aren't important to the story, I can choose to pretend they aren't there. I haven't found the same level of enjoyment in any of the volumes since our characters entered the 6th layer.

I feel like the pacing has slowed so much as we have spenr multiple volumes in the same setting. None fo the characters introduced after Prushka and Bondrewd have been particularly interesting to me. It took me awhile to read this section of the story because I disliked the previous ones so much. I'm thinking that I will proceed because this volume concludes a major plotline introduced in the last few volumes so hopefully we are moving on to more interesting things.

As a side note, I am having a hard time conceptualizing what the author could do to create a satisfying ending to this series.
