"The Bridge Home" is a powerful story about two sisters (one with a disability) who run away from home and learn to make friends, stay away from danger, and make a living on the rough city streets of Chennai, India. It tackles difficult subjects such as parental abuse, mental illness, and death, in a way so that a younger audience can understand and learn about the different experiences and a different culture. Although these topics can be a little bit upsetting, I think it is an important story and would recommend for 11+.
Moderate: Child death, Domestic abuse, Child abuse, and Mental illness
