Augh! What happened to the end?

I waited for this book for so long. The first entry was so completely different from anything I had read before. And this, this was so good until the last two chapters! The characters of Ann and Murgatroyd are superbly developed. The world development is amazing. The storyline was relatively engaging. Then, instead of leaving openings in the plot, we're dropped into a scene with Ann and some thoughts from The One that leave an opening for a sequel. It's as if Tsao wasn't sure she wanted to write another one until the last moment and felt like she had to add some questions for us. It could easily have ended with the website and anything else could have been in the start of another book. It's still easy to forgive based on the originality of her ideas and the wonderful characters.

What a pleasure these books are. I love the writing and the story is both funny and deeply moving. Wonderful world and character building as well. I hope to see more of this world and these characters. Yay Tiffany Tsao!

Better than the first book, but still not quite there for me. Enjoyed it but didn't love it.

worth the long wait, every minute of it. what I love most about these books is the author's ability to be side-splittingly funny in an enviably casual way, while bringing the most outrageous and ridiculous and innovative ideas to life. I loved every single thing about this book, and I cannot wait to read more from this wonderful universe.

I really enjoyed The Oddfits, and I was very much looking forward to the sequel. The Oddfits had been a delightful surprise. This sequel, however, I gave up on without finishing. I did not find it compelling in the same way. I may return to it in the future and try again, as I did enjoy visiting the world and characters of The Oddfits.

Not as good as the first but still good

The title pretty much sums it up. I wonder if there will be a third installment to keep things going.

I don't say "I've never read a book like this" often, because it's rarely accurate, but in this case it absolutely holds true. Like its characters, it's unexpected and endearing and slightly off-kilter in all the best ways.
