Loved how the three points of view in this book really worked together. Each character had a very distinct voice so it was easy to keep them apart. I enjoyed the mystery surrounding how all the characters linked together. The book also stayed away from the normal "eye-roll" tropes of many historical fiction novels.

Look. I’m a sucker for this kind of book and I thought this book was a very good version of this kind of book. I don’t care that it’s not a masterpiece of literary fiction. I loved it. Thank you. Good night.

I wanted to like this book, since I usually love stories with multiple timelines and characters, but it was only okay. The “mystery” of how the multiple storylines intertwined was very obvious and there was only one “twist” that I didn’t guess. It was all a bit too convenient to me. Looking back, very little actually happens for a book of this size. If you are a lover of historical fiction, there are far better books out there!

Entertaining plot with a nice thread to connect 3 protagonists across separate timelines, but at times the writing made it incredibly difficult to follow and differentiate between the characters.
