Sometimes I Feel...: A Menagerie of Feelings Big and Small by Sarah Maycock

A menagerie of feelings-described-as-animals: exactly right. And while there is no taxonomy of birds or mammals - everything is rather random - this feels right: a book to dip into, to find and name a feeling, to look at the simple brush-stroke pictures, and even to explore how one’s own emotion isn’t quite like this or that. For a reader (adult or child) wanting or needing to find the emotion they feel, here there is a lot to ponder - for the right reader at the right time.

it was a really cool poem with beautiful illustrations and I loved that it all came full circle at the end.

I love this book! A lovely story about feelings, relating to different animals to help children identify their emotions and know that each feeling will pass. The book is beautifully illustrated and helps to add to the emotions linked with each animal. A great book to start discussions about feelings with KS1 and lower KS2 children.

Short and cute. Feels a bit weird to count this in my Goodreads tally since there are not very many words per page but WHATEVER! The art work is incredible, and many of the simple phrases in this book hit me surprisingly hard. Solid advice, beautiful paintings and cute animals - great stuff!
