Cute! But they obviously really liked each other from the beginning and the miscommunication got a little annoying. Will definitely read from Abby Jimenez again!

3.5 rounded up.

Jacob's character and his family saved
this from being 3 stars. This was a slooooow burn romance. Jacob's journal made me cry.

Jacob is an anxiety filled doctor and all around great human being. Briana is also a doctor and in line for the Chief position. Her boss hired Jacob to be competition for her and she hates him instantly. Their relationship starts of with him writing her a letter to apologize for his bad first impression. He needs a fake girlfriend so his family won't worry about him so much. He's pretending to be okay with his ex girlfriend marrying his brother.

They spend all their time together, he does things out of his comfort zone to show her he wants her, yet neither one believes it's real. There is so much miscommunication and unnecessary angst. They don't even kiss until 85% of the book is done and have one sexual encounter which only leads to more angst. If you're looking for steamy and spicy, you won't find that in this book.

I could barely breathe because I was laughing so hard when Briana tells Jacob what she did to her ex husband. Her level of petty is exceptional. She bought 5 gallons of glitter and poured it everywhere including every ceiling fan blade. She put raw shrimp inside the curtain rods, took the microwave plate, bulb out of the fridge, garage door openers, untuned his guitar, red kool-aid in the shower head, tore all the labels off the cans, took the lid for the blender, and tore out the last 5 pages of the book he was reading.

Gave me some ✨ Grey’s Anatomy vibes and was such a fun read! I love Abby Jimenez’s writing style and flow, as well as the dual POV. Also such an important take on mental health and anxiety!

Fucked with the first half of this book soo much more than the second half. The second half gave miscommunication trope. However I still adored it. Think Minnesota, lake cabins, the Mayo Clinic, Duluth, weekend getaways (being from MN I ate this up). Minnesota core with a side of Greys anatomy much like the first book of the series!! I loved the realistic portray of functional anxiety & daddy issues too. Felt seen more than once lmao. ily Abby Jimenez

Amazing Book! Finished this book in a couple of days, COULD NOT PUT it down.
The way Jacob was throughout the book was so nice to see. We rarely see a mans POV in regards to his mental health and his anxieties. Brianna was pissing me off towards the end but I am glad she finally realized their love.
