Honestly, loved this book. Have never read a rom com before, and it was truly refreshing and so much better than I anticipated! Depth, great realistic dialogue, trope wasn’t cheesy, just plain cute. Very uplifting which is what I needed right now. Easy joyful read.

The lack of communication between the two main characters drove me batty through a big portion of the book (made for more drama!), but I liked the premise and how to ended.

An ER doctor with severe anxiety who writes letters, has a rescue tripod dog named Lieutenant Dan, AND decides to donate his kidney? You had me at hello. This book had so much going on but it didn’t clog up the plot. Bri was so strong and funny, but that trauma was so deep-seated that I FELT it. Jacob’s internal monologue could rival my own. The cast of characters was ridiculous (smoking Grandpa,  Salvadoran Mama, and crazy siblings) but I loved it. Bawled my eyes out and that HEA was hard-earned! So good!
