I really enjoy the way Jimenez writes very well rounded characters that feel like people you could run into, or friends you could have. This book is the definition of a man written by a woman
especially the letters and the journal, pretty sure that’s my dream scenario
. I will definitely pick up another book in her discography when I read another romance

I really liked the first 3/4 of the book, but the characters’ inability to communicate went absolutely off the rails in the last quarter.

The only reason I couldn’t give it a five star rating is because at one point the male narrators voice started to become annoying
when Briana gets really drunk at her friends house
and it made it difficult to take seriously. There is also a point in the book where Briana becomes very annoying
when she complains to her mom after finding out she’s pregnant
. Those instances made it hard for ME to give it five stars, but the story is very good.

Really loved this book. I listened to it on audio and really appreciated having a masculine and feminine voice for the characters of Brianna and Jacob. Loved the progression of this pseudo one-sided enemies to lovers trope. The story was easy to follow and difficult to put down. I was eager to see where things went with Brianna and Jacob.
Brianna aggravated me often with how she kept pushing Jacob away because of what Nick did to her. I was a little sick of the everyone being pregnant narrative but it really drove home the insecurities of Brianna so it was a necessary plot point. I think Jacob’s obsession with Brianna was kind of crazy and of course the exact swoon worthy content we love as readers. I can’t even be mad he was so perfect. What I do love is he wasn’t described as the typical over six foot tall, chiseled, dark featured male protagonist that is so overused. I felt like things were going almost too well until about 85% through when Brianna reveals her pregnancy and runs into Nick and Kelly. yikes. I felt myself clinging desperately to Jacob and her romance and worrying if things would just end when the clock ran out.

Overall, this story was so good and interesting the whole time. The characters are lovable but just flawed enough that you get frustrated with their internal dialogue. I love the writing style of this author and would absolutely read more of her books if they are anything like this one.

A great part II in the series. Jacob, Briana, and the rest of the characters really are lovable. At times, it seemed redundant with the mental conversations, but overall I look forward to part III.
