I've never read a book this fast in my life. I was dying to know who Blue was. And it was such a sweet, heartfelt coming of age LGBT+ story. It is what the community deserves.

Quest'anno penso di essere diventata la regina delle unpopular opinion, ed eccone un'altra: non ci trovo niente di speciale in questo libro. Non capisco tutto l'hype che c'è intorno a questa storia, o meglio potrei capirlo ma proprio non mi sembra che ne valga la pena XD.
La storia è okay? Non succede praticamente niente per tutto il libro. Mi aspettavo una storia leggermente più complessa, dove magari il protagonista venisse presentato in maniera diversa. Simon non mi ha lasciato niente, non mi sono sentita in empatia con il suo personaggio e il tutto dà l'impressione di un personaggio assolutamente piatto. No, non sono omofoba, semplicemente ci sono personaggi gay descritti e portati al pubblico decisamente meglio di così. Con questo non voglio dire che l'autrice non sa quello che fa, è un'opinione personale e prendetela come viene (alias vedete di non scatenarvi contro di me per niente, non riuscireste comunque a farmi cambiare idea).
Per quanto riguarda il mistero di chi fosse Blue, diciamo che mistero prorio non è. Se si sta leggermente attenti ai dettagli si riesce a intuirlo abbastanza in fretta. Quindi sì, anche questo è stato un mezzo flop, vabbè ci siamo abituati XD.
In buona sostanza mi aspettavo forse di più di quanto questo libro potesse darmi, ma lo ringrazio di essere stato una lettura veloce e di avermi fatto compagnia in mezzo alle campagne cremasche mentre il treno rimaneva fermo a tempo indeterminato (chi ha mai preso un treno di Trenord capirà).

This is for the audiobook version. It took me a moment to get into the book, mostly because at the beginning I honestly though the narrator was on 1.5x speed, so it took me a moment to really follow him. Once I got past that I really enjoyed it. Some great characters and I really enjoyed the description of the small moments and feelings, I was right there with him.

I really blazed through this!
Things are tough these days, but this book made me feel warm and fuzzy~
It was almost scary how much I (or rather, my highschool self) could relate to Simon's thought process and worries and awkwardness.
And now I want to watch the movie again!
