I think I would've rated it higher if it weren't so predictable. Still an enjoyable read!

Feeling very nostalgic following a podcast that interviewed Tim Jacobus, the genius illustrator behind these original iconic covers. I’m not sure if I ever read this one as a youngster but I always remember loving the cover - I could maybe have rounded this up to a 4? It just wasn’t as consistently scary as I remember the series being, but hey, 25 years has to make me a little braver right?
Right?

Typically goosebumps but I quite like the ending to this book.

Came upon this one in a little free library and couldn't resist revisiting some fond childhood memories. This was my first ever Goosebumps book as a kid, and it always remained my favorite because it had a wolf on it (my favorite animal) and the purple and green colors were cool. Prior to rereading it I could recall absolutely nothing of the story, so clearly it was rather forgettable in that regard. Decent enough little story though, and I appreciated being introduced to swamp deer!
