Szokás szerint, Nora Roberts legfrissebb regényét előjegyeztem már, úgyhogy a megjelenéskor olvashattam, s bár legutóbb épp egy régebbi, közepesebb történetével találkoztam, akárcsak tavaly, amikor a [b:Come Sundown|31415529|Come Sundown|Nora Roberts|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1483470298l/31415529._SY75_.jpg|52107758]t füleltem, most is sikerült teljesen magával ragadnia.

I have been a huge fan of Nora Roberts but had taken a break from reading her books. I am very glad I picked up this book. For many (including me), the idea of reading about a mass shooting can be an emotional experience. However, I felt that Nora Roberts did a great job in portraying the effects of a mass shooting on a community and the loss of life.

The story is told from the perspective of Simone and Reed who were survivors of this mass shooting when they were teenagers. Haunted by the shooting, each choose a different path to deal with their pain. Simone chose to run away from her home town while Reed chose to become a cop and become one of the "good guys".

Years later, other survivors of this mass shooting are being killed off. How can this happen? The shooters were killed after the mass shooting. The twist of how the original shooters are connected to this new killer was great. It surprised me.

As with many Nora Roberts books, there is the usual romance that develops among the main characters. The character development was detailed and made the story more plausible and real to me.

I gave the book 4 stars instead of five as the race to catch the new killer felt strung out to me and was a bit too long.

On the whole, I believe that most Nora Roberts fan will enjoy this book. I look forward to reading more of Nora Roberts' books (and catch up on ones I have missed)

This book was a lot. Hard to read at first and then captivating. One of her best.

Couldn't put it down!

Been a long while since I've read a Nora Roberts book and was not disappointed!
Grabbed me from the beginning and I couldn't put it down! Great characters! Very moving romance/thriller/crime mystery! This had it all! Loved it! 5 stars! A must read!

i wanted to like this book just because knowing about a massacre and serial killer was interesting to me, but overall just wasn't. i wanted to see more about the killing and more insight to how these deaths were planned instead of focusing on the lives of the main characters and watching them find love. i just think not all stories need a love story.

Another great Nora read! I loved this one, the only reason it’s not a 5 star for me is that I can’t tell if my standards are just lower this year. I didn’t love her 2017 release (Come Sundown) so I came into this very skeptical. But this is back to the Nora I know and love, and it was extremely well done. Less romance than usual, which I actually kind of preferred since I felt like the relationship was reflective of real life, not a sudden oh hey, I just met you and this is crazy (yes, I’m quoting Call Me Maybe). So I’m back on the Nora train! Maybe I’ll even try another trilogy by her, who knows.
