This was a very interesting fictional account of something that really happened. Something that I had not ever thought about. The idea that German people were interned along with Japanese people in America. I think that it was super informative and interesting and I like that it was told from the German point of you but also a little bit of the Japanese point of you. I wish there was more about the Japanese point of view. It felt a little rushed at the end but a very excellent novel for anyone who wants to learn more about internment camps and the lives of people after they got out.
Moderate: Death, Forced institutionalization, Abandonment, Deportation, Gaslighting, War, Hate crime, Rape, Cancer, Death of parent, Dementia, Infertility, Injury/Injury detail, Murder, Sexual assault, and Violence
