This is my first time reading a psychological thriller, and this book was such a page turner and I was surprised by the twists! I would say the first half was a tad slow and some of the last lines of the chapter were a bit cliche/basic. However, by the second half, the pace picked up and I couldn’t put the book down until I finished it 😅 The last quarter of the book was a little gruesome for me personally, so I’m not sure if I’ll read the sequel. But if you’re into psychological thrillers, I would recommend this as an easy, quick read.

The writing at times seemed kind of juvenile, especially in the first half of the book with Millie. But I guess that could be attributed to Millie being kind of juvenile because of her previous situation. The twists were obvious, but still so satisfying.

Het boek leest als een trein en je wil gewoon heel graag weten hoe het afloopt. Events en plottwists volgen elkaar supersnel op waardoor je bijna niet anders kan dan constant in het boek te lezen.

Toch vond ik er weinig diepgang inzitten en waren sommige stukken gewoon heel ongeloofwaardig en dacht ik soms “yeah right”. 

Al bij al een fijne en snelle read.
