This is the second Sidney Sheldon book that I’ve read.

I must admit he has a special skill in how he connects the twists in his character’s stories. Always keeps you excited and thrilled to keep you reading to know what happens next. And his expressions when describing places/scenery is also amazing.

For this one, the ending is what I loved the most! The trial and its ending was just brilliant.

This book was slow and I put it down a ton in the beginning. I was sick of all the characters at several points but I kept going and the ending was so worth it…but I’m a little twisted sometimes :-)

This is, without a doubt, a timeless and brilliant story that everyone should read.

Sidney Sheldon has a way of captivating you in his works. He starts off with a prologue that jumps forward to the book's future. When you first read it, you expect that the pages are filled with spoilers. However, you would be wrong. The prologue is there to throw out mystery and clues for what is to come. Because what's about to come is something you could never predict, even till the very end.

There are two main characters with one man connecting them.
Catherine and Noelle with Larry connecting them.
Catherine is like her father that believes she is destined for greatness. Because of this, she makes decisions based on what will bring her this fame and glory. It's her greatest strength as it brings her to places where she excels the most, but a weakness as she loses many things that breaks her down.
Noelle was already born with the idea she is amazing. Treated like a princess, in the beginning, she travels life with confidence. It's her greatest strength as it gives people this odd impression of her that intrigues them. She uses her skills with great confidence in bed and in conversation with no regard for whomever she speaks to. However, it's a weakness as well because the moment she loses confidence, she is destined to fail.
Larry was born and developed skills that carry him throughout life. His strength is the mere desire he holds that makes me strive for amazing things. Alas, he is filled with so much desire, he tends to overstep and become sloppy.

What Sheldon does with all three is made them so unbelievably human, they come across as real people. They have real goals, desires, and emotions that make them excellent writing. He knows when to slow down and speed up on whichever part of their lives there in. You don't get to put down the book. Instead, he tells you when you can put it down because you're engaged in this story of sex, revenge and happiness.

Then, when you reach the end, you finally see how everything connects with a glorious ending that fulfils your every need and wants from the book.

Sidney Sheldon is the greatest author of all time, so, do yourself a favour, and read his book.

The first time I read this book (I was 23) I thought it was great and couldn't put it down. The second time I tried to read it I thought is was overly dramatic and contrived. I still have good memories of reading it the first time.

Noelle is the “perfect” woman that centuries of female oppression have strove to create: she’s passive, subservient, has no apparent personality, is stunningly beautiful and a total freak in the bed.

Sure, she’s an insane murderer
