I meant to savor this book, but I slurped it up all in one sitting. Anyone who knows grief will recognize the paradox of not here and not not here Cording returns to over and over in his newest book. The book is a reflection, through both poetry and essay, of the aftermath of the sudden loss of Cording’s son. It is a raw and unflinching exploration of what it means to live with grief and the myriad ways we keep those we lost as close to us as we can. It is at once heartbreaking and beautiful and a highly worth reading.
