Honestly, I loved this book, it was a very easy and quick book to pick up. It was fun trying to figure out who February Friday is alongside the main character. I can't wait to read more of Alice Oseman's work because this was captivating to me.

I never really got Aled in the heartstopper comics but after reading this I have a real soft spot for him. He’s so riddled with mental illness that he’s become incredibly relatable to me. The standout for me in this book was the relationships! Each one felt realistic and complex, with layers that peeled back as the book went on. I think that Alice Oseman just writes teenagers very realistically, and though I no longer relate to that, I can still appreciate that. The themes were a little heavy-handed in my opinion, but important nonetheless.

This book took me back to my 2016 Tumblr fandom era! I loved the internal monologue, stream of consciousness writing style because it was so easy to follow. I loved getting to know Aled, Frances, Raine, Daniel, and Carys as they navigated their futures after finishing school. I could very much relate to "School Frances" and her outer studiousness and cleverness coupled with her inner nerd. AND IT WAS SO REFRESHING TO SEE A STORY WHERE A BOY AND GIRL ARE FRIENDS AND DON'T FALL IN LOVE!!! And a YA book where romance doesn't take over the entire plot! I am loving Alice Oseman's work :)

I really liked this book! It was a fun read, it kept me interested, and the majority of the characters are pretty okay in my book. I love how Frances and Aled really got to be their true selves around each other, and how they just found their best friend in each other without falling in love. I loved how Raine stuck by Frances as a really good friend, and being their transportation throughout the book was really funny to me. Daniel also gets some really good character development as well as he and Frances become closer because of Aled. I loved Frances's mom, and I loved how well Carol's abuse of Aled was dealt with, I think it was very well written. With that being said, I wish Carys's story was included more in the book. It felt like just a passing mention, very overshadowed by the main plot, and she came back in the end with it not feeling entirely earned. I still feel like I don't know that much about her, and she used to be the best friend of the protagonist. Maybe if the stories had run parallel, it would've been better. This book is just kinda meh for me, because I feel like I don't entirely know what it's trying to SAY. There were no extreme plot twists, and yeah, academics don't mean everything and all that, but I feel like there's just something missing there. Overall, good book, just fell a little flat. I don't know if I would read this again.
