Never really got into this book. The characters were not very appealing to me and the story just drug on and on. The action scenes had a few moments of excitement, but overall I just felt like the whole thing was a waste of time. Sorry Thor.

Unfortunately, The Apostle was a disappointment from Brad Thor. Compared to the previous Harvath novels, this one had little to no personal consequences for our main character, which essentially meant that you could have replaced him with literally any other soldier-type character and the outcome would've been the same. Because of this and the fact that the plot is so boring, it's probably my least favorite of Thor's books so far.

Scot is doing some free lance work to save a hostage, not my favorite harvath noval. Seemed a bit different then the previous books.

Nothing at all memorable about this story. So many unnecessary words.

This is my first Brad Thor book. Very well done. I'm not sure where in the series this one falls, but I want to go back to the beginning. Good exciting reading! I love the dialog between the guys in this book.

I expect some Trump-esque drivel because a lot of veterans are like that. This veteran isn’t, and that’s okay. But this book has zero plot and 100% more ranting about liberals and how Islam is hateful, and zero “thriller” which is why I usually enjoy the series despite it being really nationalist. Harvath hates terrorists, cool, so do I. But him preaching to the reader how Islam’s original goal was to take over the world, and Harvath knows because he studied it, is gross. Had to put it down at 60% finished and didn’t even care because the book was going nowhere. The side plot with the secret service woman was more interesting than his mission in Afghanistan.

Was overall quite solid, but lacking in the 24-style action the series is known for. Also, the last 50 pages were way too much of a blur, like he was rushing to meet a set page count or something. I need to go back and check out the older ones

Not the best in the political thriller genre, but I was entertained.

I've given up on Brad Thor/Scot Harvath books. They have gone downhill with more talk and little action. I read past 100 pages and Harvath didn't do a single thing. Boring.
