How am I supposed to write an adequate review when the conclusion left me so very devastated.

It took me a while to read just because I feel in and out of reading these months and the beginning was a little slow, but the rest of the book thoroughly makes up for that. I cannot even say I’m satisfied with the ending, just bitter sweetly devastated. don’t even know what else to say

Favourite book in the trilogy! Gripping read, especially in the last third or so.

ok so look. i hated it but loved it. i get the mixed feelings because i felt them all too. that is why it’s going to be a 5-star for me.

there was a good chunk of the book where i thought pip – and me lowkey – were hallucinating because it threw me off that much. a plot twist!? but at the same time, it kinda made sense storywise.

all in all, my biggest takeaway from this series is FUCK 12!

oh, and their non-ending ending wrecked me.

ms. jackson, i am kindly asking for an extended epilogue, please and thank you.

Cannot believe how disappointed this left me

The start was really strong. The mystery was good, the stakes were high, and everything over the previous two books coming together was really good (although Pip’s repetition of how everything was “coming full circles got very annoying and heavy handed, like the author was both patting herself on the back and not trusting the readers to see it for themselves)

But then the last third/half took a serious nosedive. I absolutely hated the direction it took.
Pip choosing to frame Max for Jason’s murder and all her actions after felt so stupid and pointless. I had next to no sympathy for her and Ravi after all that. Especially since evidence that Jason was DT came out in the end anyway, and her whole worry was that nobody would believe her. Just all felt worthless

The stakes and tension remained high, and had my heart pounding at times because I really didn’t know how it was going to end, but I just didn’t really care because I was so mad at the characters

Read with caution! This final in the trilogy is nothing like the first (which is one of my favourite books). I figured it was going to take a darker story line after the end of the 2nd book, but did not expect it to go how it did. It is incredibly dark- I even had to stop reading for a week- and even though it resolves positively (if you could call it that) I was not left with any feelings of satisfaction, but instead despair for who Pip has become. Also did not appreciate how Pip takes justice into her own hands and is somewhat successful (other than the detrimental impact it has on her and those close to her). While the novel does not encourage it (due to the extent of the negative impact), it seems to prove that it may be the better option in the end, which is not helpful to our justice system. It is true that justice is not always served, but the system has been put in place for a reason.
The only redeeming thing is the skill of which Jackson writes and I only kept reading because of her ability to twist and turn the story, as well as the desire to know how it turns out for Pip (a once beloved character).

First of all, what a great way to end the series!
I really liked Pip's development
into a spiraling, traumatised character.
At times I couldn't predict her next move. When she
killed DT
I was shocked. At the same time, I've never been more scared for her. That
abduction
was so nerve racking. All the suspense and plotwist were done so well.

My only critic is the following: I thought
Jason Bell being the DT Killer
was very predictable especially after
Andie's 'last words' e-mail.

I also really didn't like the last two chapters and the time skip. It just created unnessecary tension, we didn't need. It would be better, if the readers would have some more time to breathe. It was clear that
Ravi would get in touch with Pip
again.

However, the crime aspects (e.g.
the abduction, the almost-murder and the real murder. As well as the cover up, ESPECIALLY the cover up
were done so well that the two cons don't weigh that much to me.
