This book is something I didn't expect. I am the kind of person who is getting out of the YA genre and while I felt that the first 2 books were good, I also knew that I had outgrown them, hence the 4 stars. And maybe because it's in the genre of mystery as I am not a fan of using my brain to decipher a situation into a proper outcome. That's one of the reasons I didn't like SOC as I felt that a lit of info was kept away from me while reading it. And same happened with the first two books. It was good, but nothing to rave about.

This book tho..... is unhinged and has actually given me a fear to stay in the dark places at night šŸ« . The first half felt like someone was stalking me and I was having this experience in real life, which was not great, and the second half is unhinged. I think I really loved Pip here, (I always thought of her as my little sister as she is very similar to her in the past 2 books) as I could finally imagine her story in my head as she became a maniacal, pill popping grey character here. Completely unhinged and destructive. My favourite kind of leads in some situations. What she goes through and what she does is truly some of the most fantastic moments in my life and I absolutely love that she actually went to cover up a murder in today's world and actually got away with it.

Another thing is that I love the supporting cast. Pip's family, her friends and her boyfriend are such a well fleshed out supporting characters. I loved their complete trust in her and the willingness to look for her and look out for her. I wish I could get at least 2 of these 3 supportive factors and I'll actually die happy! Mr. Ravi Singh, the only book character that my  mom would actually give blessings for if I ever got married (exactly because he's an Indian boy) has reached the peak book boyfriend material there's been ever out, literally helping his girlfriend hide a body, I am in awe of him. I would love to have a boyfriend like that šŸ˜.

Finally the only gripe is that what's with Dan Da Silva being on Pip's suspects every time?! I really don't know, but I could keep that away while giving full five stars to this!

I loved this series so much and the final book didnā€™t disappoint. I feel the phrase
you either die a hero or live long enough to see yourself become the villain
fits awfully well.

This book simultaneously scared the shit out of me and was so amazing that I couldnā€™t put it down. I looooooved the darker edge this book has compared to the other books in this series. Again itā€™s not super realistic but I do not care. At all. Didnā€™t love the ending but the rest of the book more than enough made up for it.

I didnā€™t know what to expect after book 2, which wasnā€™t quite what Iā€™d hoped for following book 1. But WOW, this was more than a murder mystery, more than smart-girl-beats-bad-guy, more than a story of justiceā€¦this was emotionally gut wrenching. Pip is brilliant and crazy and both the worst example of what to do and the friend and sister we all need in our corner. Do not delay reading this series!

Reread rating: 5

After reading a lot more YA mystery books over the last 2 years, I've come to appreciate the A Good Girl's Guide to Murder series more. The way Holly Jackson weaved the whole story and everything came full circle was just amazing. I will never shut up about how good her writing (and this series is). I hope if they decide to continue the AGGGTM TV series, they will do all the books justice, especially As Good As Dead.

I love how the series gets darker and darker. I love how we got to see how Pip spiraled. I love looking at how it led her to this point, understanding the reasons why this needed to be how it ended.
