Everyone was right about this book - I totally devoured it. I wish I hadn't accidentally spoiled a plot point for myself, but it was still such an enjoyable read. What an interesting study of the many ways misogyny presents in everyday life from both men and women.

I LOOOOOOOOOOOOOVE THIS SONKUCH TIS SOOOOOOO GOOD i love the way liane moriarty writes. the book itself isnt necessarily hard its a pretty easy read i guess but that doesn’t mean it isnt written intelligently. the way she writes is so good and everything feels so real and natural. i think this book also helps give me a different look on motherhood (how its an “illness” as one of the characters says earlier i dunno who it was) and maternal relationships and family overall. the parts when the kids were going through their hardest times really hit me because i still feel like a little kid myself sometimes and desperately want to go back into someone laying in my mothers arms. also the plot twists and perfectly executed tension had me shitting and peeing my pants and gripping the walls everything about this is just so good im CRUUIIFIFGFNNBBBVVX

This book was just okay for me. The beginning dragged on for way too long with boring "mommy wars" stuff and annoying characters, but it did build to a thrilling pitch as the story approached a fateful night where the reader already knows something will happen... And then immediately starts dragging again after the event occurs. I think the message about domestic violence is important but this book just didn't grab me.
