Reread July 2023: Still a fucking CLASSIC. Also S/O to Anna Massey. Great narrator.

Original Review (March 2019): GOOD GOD

About damn time, but a good time at that. It’s frustratingly slow with getting you to a plot. The lead up, although enjoyable, took 270 pages of the 360 page book. It was still a great book though and a fairly enjoyable read!

Wow. Just… wow. This is a book that will stay on my mind for a very long time and has prompted many questions that I’m not even sure I want answered. There is so much depth and imagery and so many layers to the story that my review won’t do justice! I loved the prose (beautiful!), the characters, the setting, the pacing and a special shout-out to Manderley itself. Such a strange, surreal place.
