Funny and creative. I love it thoroughly and will be conducting a handful of these social experiments when the moments arise!

this is so great. so silly so humble so colorful and enjoyable to read and think about. so many pieces in my mind!!! i feel weird calling ono a genius bc it’s something entirely different that she is.

her manifestos on anti-war performance art were honestly magnificent.

there’s probably an interesting ethical convo to be had around what performance art really does during vietnam esp this kind of performance art. i’m not super interested in having it because the playfulness of this book and it’s mind are in a league of their own. some other form of knowledge making.

there were a couple of pages that seemed like they didn’t need to be there, and the ordering of chapters didn’t make much sense to me? so i only docked this for organization.

My favorite things in this collection are pieces of conceptual art that take place entirely in your mind, like this one:

Think that snow is falling.
Think that snow is falling everywhere all the time.
When you talk to a person, think that snow is falling between you and the person.
Stop conversing when you think the person is covered by snow.

much can be said about Yoko Ono, but her instruction (for me) are her best series of work. practical, imaginary or else, all pieces are ways to connect and be present. I love this book.

Performance art, poetry, or advice? Whichever, definitely something I will find myself coming back to for a long time.
