I'm gonna be thinking about this one for a while. The characters are so fleshed out and the imagery is so vivid - this book might even surpass pet Sematary for me.

It's not scary in the traditional sense, it is very unsettling and strange - it is the most fantastical book by King that I've read so far and I am absolutely floored. Fantasy is clearly also his genre
I've found that I thoroughly enjoy when King writes about writers - like in Misery and Rat - so Lisey's
Story (in which the author in question is Lisey's late husband Scott) was very entertaining
It is definitely a sad ish book. Lisey and Scott were very much in love for their many years of marriage before he died - he was completely devoted to her as was she to him, which makes her grappling with the grief of his untimely passing all the more emotional for the reader. The book takes place five years after his death and is told by alternating between flashbacks and the present time.

I feel like I can't talk too too much about the happenings of the book (which is pretty long, like five hundred pages) without giving too much away, but if you're going to read Stephen king, Lisey's story should be on your list.

A beautifully tender story about marriage and insanity. In true Stephen King form, insanity has its benefits and drawbacks. I really like the protagonists, Lisey and Scott, and their quirky sense of humor...even in the gravest of situations.

It had its moments of potential but King taking his time often comes across as overly long and pretentious, so think Duma Key but with the plus of a female lead written by a man.

Wanted to re-read the author's favorite of his own books. So heartfelt and tender, but also intense and crazy.

I could not get into this book. I listened to about 3-4 hours of the 18 hour book and it's just so boring. My mind kept wandering off and getting aggravated at the made up lovey dovey language in the book. Mare Winningham does a fine job narrating. It's not her. It's the story.

Ironically, Stephen King says this is his very favorite of all his books. I'm sure it's written from the heart for Tabitha but it's not my cup of tea.
