A fantastic ready by Kid Congo Powers. Touching insights into his relationship with Jeffrey Lee Piece (the Gun Club), the inner workings of the Cramps, life as a Latino/Gay punk before identity politics took hold, and the early LA punk music scene. Touching, specific, insightful, honest, but never mean spirited, Powers is delightful narrator of his times. One of the better autobiographies in the genre

Engaging, and fun to read about the exploits of someone who has been in so many of my favorite bands, and known the people from a lot of my other favorite bands. But also deeply, deeply moving, as a queer punk who has had my own struggles with addiction, and lost many friends far too young.
