This one didn't have quite the same magic as the first book, for me. The sense of urgency was no longer there and there were some slow parts, but I still enjoyed it. The new protagonist, Cole, is interesting if completely self absorbed. And it was nice, too, to see more of Isabel. I'm looking forward to reading Forever to finish off this cute YA trilogy.

At the beginning I wasn't sure what to think. However, my favorite part of the story was near the end of the novel. I really enjoyed how the author started putting theories together as why and how the wolf mystery works. It did keep my interest and I look forward to how it ends.

I like revisiting the characters and the world from Shiver. Overall, I liked the book but I thought it dragged a little bit in the middle. The plot picked up in the end and I am looking forward to finding what happens in the next book.

It was slow to start out, but it got really good towards the end. Can't wait to read Forever now!

I need to preface this sort of bad looking review by saying that I didn't really think that this needed to be a trilogy--I was really happy with the way book 1 wrapped up and I felt like any other books in the series would be unnecessary. SO, with that in mind and how I went into reading this book, it really wasn't bad. Steifvater has a great voice, and Grace and Sam are really believable characters. Cole was useless until about 3/4 of the way through, and Isabel is just so one-dimensional that I had a hard time liking her in this book at all. It all just felt really unnecessary to me. I'll still read book 3 so that I can figure out how it ends, but book 1 will really be it for me.
