A short story collection, some hits, and some misses. The stories in this collection are dark, some are extremely graphic but all are thought-provoking. Even the stories which were less enjoyable still made me think about the message the author was trying to get across. I found myself thinking about the expertly woven and layered ideas long after finishing each story.
There are some real gems here about consumerism, race, violence, capitalism, and society that challenge the reader to draw parallels to real life. A challenging read at times, but worthwhile to encourage the reader to think about these topics and to think about how they or other people experience them. 3.75*

A mixed bag collection of short stories. Many are dystopian, sci-fi critiques of capitalism / society à la Black Mirror playing on themes of racial oppression, gun violence, and death. I liked the premise of some stories but sometimes the message was a little too blunt.
