It took a long time for this book to make sense. It's not the type you want to DNF before its time.

That being said, I didn't love the characters as much as I did in The Flatshare, didn't connect with any one character and I didn't even understand the appeal of Joseph till the last three chapters of the book. None of the romances were compelling to me, and I didn't really understand why anyone was dating each other. It was a long time before I felt like I was actually enjoying reading it.

It was all a bit too heterosexual for me tbh. I don't want to compare it to The Flatshare, but I liked how The Flatshare was just about people; The No-Show is about cis women and the cis man that they want to have sex with.

I wouldn't recommend this book, I would just tell them the plot tbh.

Pleasantly surprised by this one!
Enjoyed the twist and I actually thought it worked quite well.
My only issue was that ideas/ characterisations for the characters were already very strong so by the time the twist had been revealed I found it hard to look at some of the characters differently.
I also found the women lost elements of themselves - like Miranda and what was the depth of Jane?
I still found it an easy, interesting read that wasn’t as predictable as I was expecting.
A super holiday read!

Great concept but a tough book to stick with. I really didn't enjoy the format, in that just as I was getting into one story it would switch to another. For me it felt disjointed and frustrating to read. The (rather predictable) twist that brought it all together, in my opinion, came way too late, meaning I was bored for 90% of the book, but the last 10% I absolutely adored. I'd have enjoyed the book a lot more if it was 200 pages shorter.
