I am always on the hunt for a book with a great female superhero team-up, and so I was interested in Marvel Rising immediately. I haven't read The Unbeatable Squirrel Girl or all of Ms. Marvel yet, but I know that I will love both of them.

Marvel Rising is actually a continuation of a 2018 Marvel Rising series. I did not know that and will have to go back and read that volume so I can see how Ms. Marvel and the Unbeatable Squirrel Girl met and became friends. Though that background would be nice, it's not necessary to enjoy this issue. Doreen takes Kamala, Miles Morales (Spiderman), and Dante Pertuz (The Incredible Inferno) on a tour of her college. I always love when superheroes do normal things like tour colleges and worry about the future so this was right up my alley. I also liked seeing the friendship between these three young superheroes. I felt like Kamala and Miles felt like real friends. He was worried about her, especially since they hadn't talked outside of superhero stuff recently. I also liked seeing how Kamala was freaked out about her future because she doesn't have a plan yet. It's a highly relatable scenario, and I just wanted to tell Kamala that she is still in high school, superhero or not, and she doesn't have to know yet.

Of course, these kids couldn't have just a normal college visit. Nope, Morgana has to somehow control two drives to make them psych0. Since this is a superhero comic, our three teens and one young adult suit up to fight the bad guys. I know this is why most people come to comics, but I just wanted more of the college visit, teen drama, and friendship. Perhaps I'll get more of it in Marvel Rising #2.

super cute and I really liked how this comic starts with the most mundane of teen rites: the college visit. And Kamala really has a nice section where she worries that she doesn't know what to do in college when she's a superhero - you can't really major in that. Good to have Quake and Miss America show up too. (Although someone should have rethought that cover - Captain Marvel and Ghost Spider do not appear at all.)
