Kenzie & friends, Courtney, Josh, Megan, Aaron, & Kyle are heading to Josh's family's cabin for the weekend, but when they reach Josh's place, his older brother, Blake is apparently tagging along. They head off to the cabin, get drunk, & Kenzie ends up hooking up with Blake, but next morning, Courtney & Josh are dead. The police are convinced that one of their friend group is the guilty party, but Kenzie knows that none of them would kill Josh & Courtney. Or does she?
Now when you read a thriller, you expect to actually get what it says on the tin, but not here. There's little to no actual investigation, Kenzie spends all her time traipsing between her home, Blake's home, & her friends' homes. And if I had to hear once more about how attracted Kenzie was to Blake, I was gonna scream. He's an ass - he's the type of guy who is cute for about 2 seconds before you realise, actually - he's an ass. His brother has just been killed & he's smirking his way through his lines. Let's just tell girls that if boys act like a-holes, just hang on in there through all the bad treatment, because really he's just sad & misunderstood. No, he's an ass.
If you can't tell from the above paragraph, I hated this book. I'm not one for giving out 1 star reviews, I can usually find some merit in most books, but this one is just that bad. I can't think of one thing I actually liked about it. Apart from it being over.
TW: death, sexual assault.
