It was ok, but predictable and nothing special.

My first Nicholas Sparks book and I really enjoyed it, but i think the movie was a tad better. I still cried though because this story is so sweet and heartbreaking. One of the best romances.

This was just too sickly sweet for me.

I probably have cavities now...

I didn't really care for this one to be honest. I am not a big fan of sappy romances and I guess that I've outgrown Sparks. I didn't particularly care for the characters or the story. The ending was sad yes but it didn't really make me feel as emotional as I used to get years ago when I first read his books.

The story is all right, the characters were all right, but I expected more from this book considering how famous it is and how good the movie is.

This book is rather short but entertaining.

It's sweet and romantic and follows the same heartbreaking course that every Nicholas Sparks book seems to follow. Boy and girl meet. They fall in love. One of them dies. The other one lives on to see another day.

But it's the journey rather than the destination that's important.

I liked the characters of Landon and Jamie. And I liked how this book was set in the past - unlike the movie which was modern day.
