Beautifully written. Anne Rice has a way of writing that is poetic in nature. (The movie hardly does this book justice.)

Disappointing. I may have felt differently if I’d read it as a teenager.

It was very enjoyable however the descriptions of women were questionable at times.

Really struggled to settle on a rating for this one. It was a reread, I read it 6 or 7 years ago and wanted to give it another go before I watched the new TV show. On one hand there are some absolutely amazing quotes you could pull from here, some lines that really resonated with me, but on the other hand it felt very samey after a while (Louis is sad... he goes somewhere else and is sad again... rinse repeat). That might be trivialising it a bit but I put this book down mid read and left it for a long while before finally finishing it. And yet after all that, I find myself with the desire to pick up the second one. So I figured that must mean something.
