Me and White Supremacy: Combat Racism, Change the World, and Become a Good Ancestor by Layla F. Saad

proposes an interesting self-reflection exercice - but the tone sometimes is so patronizing - it is done on purpose, just to make me (the accomplice of a white supremacist system) feel how the BIPOC are feeling when interacting with white persons and context?

28 days toward fully understanding my role in racism and what I need to do moving forward.

At some parts, it got very repetitive, but this was an overall helpful antiracism workshop for people who are intrinsically motivated to become advocates for POC.

A must read/do book, especially if you are white!! This book challenged me to look at myself and the world in a new way, which was often uncomfortable and I am grateful for that. I will definitely be revisiting this book for years to come.
There are so many ways in which I could praise this book, but basically, buy this book, read it and do the journal prompts. Have conversations with your friends and family about it, and learn how to be a good ancestor and ally for BIPOC.

This book is truly a gift, especially those who desire to be a "good ancestor." It is structured in a way that you read and reflect daily for four weeks. It will certainly challenge you, possibly overwhelm. But this work is necessary if we want to leave this world better, if we want to be, as Saad says, a "good ancestor."
I am not one to journal, but I found it to be so helpful in unpacking the racism/supremacy within myself.

Was held up originally because I wanted to go through the journaling prompts, but decided to read through the whole book once first and am glad that I did. I will be going back through, re-reading it, and completing the prompts.
ETA: Did the journal prompts this time as part of a book group. Got a lot out of doing the work and digging deeper.
